rise 'n' shine

Something about the glittering frost tempted me from our cozy bed this morning. I had full intention of sleeping in. It took me for-e-ver to fall asleep last night. I now know that I shouldn't work out after 8pm; My body does not want to come back down from that post-workout high and thus, I lay in bed restless for hours. Anyways. I'm glad I went out this morning with my camera. Although I should have worn gloves and had to run inside halfway into my walk to warm up and the fact that Reagan kept following me around and shadowing up my shots. This is what morning looks like on our farm. Its pretty quiet. Mama cows are eating their breakfast or nuzzling up and licking their baby calves clean. The dogs are still fairly mellow and not in full on bark-at-EVERYTHING-chase-cars-birds-cats-each other-mode. Later on today I am riding along with Chris to central Illinois to pick up a bunch of new meds for our baby calves. This weather has been a doozy for their health. The meds will mostly help them to have regular digestion, a.k.a. like preventative pepto bismol for calves. I'm hoping we take the scenic route down to the vet's office and get to stop at some hole-in-the-wall for a burger. Happy Thursday :)
