i might be jumping the gun a little...

but... I just can't help but daydream about how I would like our room to be. We are still a long way from picking out paint colors, bedding, etc, but that doesn't mean I can meticulously organize/obsess over everything I want for it.
I'm over the moon for vintage-looking stripes. Clean lines are a little more masculine than a fluffy floral pattern, but can be given a feminine touch with the addition of a floral throw pillow or two. I don't want Chris to feel like he's living in a "pretty, pretty princess" style room so I'm planning on keeping the decor very gender-neutral.
The light fixture below is a bit too pricey for my liking but I love that it is a reproduction of original lighting from the late nineteen teens. The adventurers print fits us like a glove..We will always be trying new things and traveling to new and beautiful places, if I have anything to say about it. Plus it reminds me of our first dance at our wedding, "Oh, Darling" by Plug In Stereo.
I've also been looking at various gray paint chips and have been having a hard time finding one that has hints of brown while still being a bit on the bright side. This paint color from Benjamin Moore fit the bill today. We'll have to see how it looks in a small patch on the wall when we get to that point in the renovation.
The "See America" poster is one of many W.P.A. commissioned posters that are available online. They are all beautiful, with their deco-style fonts and color schemes.. I have MANY favorites. The white, iron headboard shown below is just an example of the style of bed we already own (ours came with a way cheaper price tag, $100 at a flea market!). Ours is a little more ornate than the one below but it will work just fine for this inspiration board. What do you think? What accent colors should I think about to help brighten up the navy and gray tones?

    1. Thanks, Brittany! I don't consider myself to be very good at decorating/organizing ideas but I thought this board went pretty well

  3. TOTALLY not jumping the gun! I LOVE to daydream about how our home will look, and be decorated. Sadly, the hardest room putting together ideas for our bedroom. I don't know why!? Maybe because I always want to go too girly, and that just won't fly for my hubs haha!

    1. Thanks for the comment, Courtney! I have to admit that its been hard for me to not go all-out, girly with room decorations/style. I was so used to decorating for myself in my college apartments that when it came to designing a room to fit both my husband & I, it was a little hard to not get out some of the old girly stuff from previous places I've lived. Hope you are having a fabulous Monday :)
